News: Millar In The News: MPVS News Release Millar Instruments, Inc. Launches New Pressure–Volume Systems Offers Researchers a Complete P-V System in a Single Unit New Orleans, Louisiana-March 5, 2004-Millar Instruments, Inc., developer and manufacturer of Mikro-Tip® pressure transducer catheters and pressure-volume (P-V) systems, introduced today at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) conference, two new models of its popular pressure-volume system. The Millar Pressure-Volume System (MPVS) is the only complete system available in the world today capable of simultaneously measuring left ventricular pressure and volume from the intact beating hearts of mice and rats. Millar P-V systems are used worldwide by pharmaceutical, biotech and university researchers to study changes in hemodynamic parameters in small animal models of cardiovascular disease. The MPVS-400 integrates Millar’s proven pressure-volume hardware with ADInstruments’ data acquisition (DAQ) technology, offering the researcher a complete hardware solution in a single space-saving unit. The MPVS-400 also features other new enhancements such as analog (DIN) and digital (USB) outputs, two pressure channels, one volume channel and an integrated universal power supply. The MPVS-300 contains Millar’s pressure-volume hardware and is an alternative solution for investigators with existing DAQ solutions in their labs. The MPVS-300 is designed to be compatible with any commercially available DAQ system. “Through our joint development and distributor partnership with ADInstruments, we are very excited about the MPVS-400 offering researchers the total solution. Creating the MPVS-300 that complements high-quality DAQ offerings from the likes of Notocord, Gould and BIOPAC Systems, Inc. was essential to have a solution for all researchers,” said Steve Price, director of sales and marketing at Millar Instruments. Commercial availability of the two new systems is scheduled
for the second quarter of this year. About Millar Instruments Contact Information Millar Instruments, Inc.
