News Release

Millar instruments Receives Excellence in Engineering
and Entrepreneurship Award for 2004

Houston, Texas, June 9, 2004 -- Millar Instruments, Inc., developer and manufacturer of Mikro-Tip® pressure transducer catheters and pressure-volume (P-V) systems was recently presented with the Excellence in Engineering and Entrepreneurship award for 2004 by the MIT Enterprise Forum® of Texas at its recently held annual luncheon.

“The MIT Forum awards those Houston-based companies that have patented break-through technology, and have succeeded in thoroughly commercializing the technology,” said Laura Capper, chairman of the MIT Enterprise Forum® of Texas. “Millar Instruments’ engineering and technology in the medical field truly exemplifies the type of company we want to recognize every year.”

“We are honored to be selected as the first recipient of this prestigious award,” said Guy Robertson, chief operating officer of Millar Instruments. “Millar takes pride in being recognized by such an esteemed organization for our contribution to the growth of technology-related business in Houston.”

The MIT Enterprise Forum® is a non-profit organization that focuses on promoting entrepreneurialism and helping new companies succeed. The organization, founded in Cambridge, MA, has 18 chapters in seven countries including United States, Israel and Japan.
